Campaigns and Events

The Back-to-School program ensures that children of poor and homeless families go back to school feeling good about themselves–fitting in just like all the other kids.  Individual donors sponsor these children by providing them with appropriate clothing and school supplies. This has become an annual event for HomeFront–a way of providing children with shoes, clothing and school supplies that makes them more an acceptable part of the school community.  For more information, contact

During October and November, HomeFront staff and local volunteers collect food for a typical Thanksgiving meal so  that each family can sit down at the traditional home-cooked  turkey dinner on Thanksgiving day – and will have a rich variety of nutritious foods for entire Thanksgiving week. Last year, hundreds of individuals, corporations and houses of worship collected and delivered the makings for a festive Thanksgiving dinner to over 6,000 needy parents and children in our community. This amazing effort made it possible for these families to celebrate the holiday around their own table in their own home. For more information, contact

Christmas Wishes

Each holiday season, individuals, churches and businesses ‘adopt’ one or more children. We supply the child’s gender, age and a wish list so that each child will have presents to open on Christmas Day. This past holiday season over 3,300 homeless or formerly homeless HomeFront children had their special Christmas Wishes granted by an outpouring of community support. As parents picked up the presents of their children that they would never have been able to afford, we witness the genuine gratitude.  For more information, contact
